FASHION AND MUSIC COLLABORATIONS
Central to the City Showcase ethos is the promotion of emerging creative talent and encouraging cross-promotion within that talent. This year, we have once again introduced emerging fashion designers to musicians performing within City Showcase. The designers have collaborated with the musicians and will be providing clothes for their performances. We hope to encourage both long term creative relationships and increased marketing opportunities for both musicians and designers.

STORES
To encourage this collaborative concept further, Esprit retail store in Regent Street will be dressing: Lease of Life, Delohoya, Heidi, Eric Tendai and Parkers Band. O’Neill retail store in Carnaby Street will be dressing Belle Park, LeOn, British Beef and Never the Bride.
Wayne Hemingway, a supporter, said, “City Showcase is a great concept. There’s no easy way to make it in the fashion business, and anything that helps on the ladder upwards has got to be good. Getting exposure in different ways to the norm – by being promoted in shops in the West End and by working with the rising music stars – could be a launchpad for the lucky few. The fact that City Showcase provides ongoing advice from industry experts also helps to keep expectations real – something rare in this business. London needs to support and provide a platform for new talent if it is to remain one of the world’s cutting-edge fashion capitals. City Showcase does this, and it’s great to see London leading the way.”
There were a number of successful collaborations coming out of City Showcase 2003, the most notable of which was Lyall Hakaraia, who dressed Summer (Sony Classics artist). As a result of this exposure, Lyall headlined at the Brideshow at Olympia, with Summer again wearing his designs whilst performing at the opening ceremony.
