City Showcase – Spotlight London
FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSIC
City Showcase, London’s leading festival for new music, takes place annually during the first week in June (4-8 June 2007). All events are free and hundreds of artists perform both day and night in venues across the city. City Showcase provides public exposure, advice and mentoring, plus the crucial contacts that aspiring talent needs. It culminates in a series of live events in venues in London’s West End (giving musicians the opportunity to perform in West End stores and legendary venues such as The Metro Club, The Fly, Embassy Club, The Grill Room, The Social and St Giles in the Fields).
Established as a key date for music lovers and industry talent spotters, City Showcase is a rare opportunity to see tomorrow’s future stars for free.

Workshop Details
At the hub of the action, The Gibson Studio, Rathbone Street and The Apple Store, Regent Street will be hosting workshops. Sessions will offer advice on topics like A&R, copyright, production, PR and marketing. There will also be two days of seminars exploring The Impact of The New Technology, a day of song-writing masterclasses and an international day looking at the commercial realities of the international music industry.
Personalised advice will be available from A&R representatives, label execs, accountants from Willott Kingston Smith, and solicitors from Clintons.
These workshops and surgeries are available free for the public and will give a broad base of knowledge of the music industry in general. So whether you are interested in a career in music, or merely curious, these absorbing workshops offer something for everyone.
