Soho Flea Market, the UK’s premier artisan and designer crafts event, returns to Dean Street, Soho, London, on Bank Holiday Sunday 25th May 2014 for its third outing bringing together the UK’s hottest creative talent. This year Soho Flea Market will support local charitable foundation, Soho Family Centre.
The one-day event featuring artisans, artists, fashion and jewellery designers, furniture makers, glassblowers and ceramicists, will include a live stage hosting musicians and entertainers. There will also be a greater number of food and drink stalls this year, offering exciting street food.
This year’s participants include maker of unique illustrated wares, Cecily Vessey, classically beautiful bags from Village England, British-made bone china from Eleanor Stuart, quirky original cards from Blank Inside, innovative ceramicist Timea Sido, unique statement jewellery from Lulu Walton, beautiful ceramicist Reiko Kaneko, stylish sleepwear from Dote London and on-trend casual wear Plane Clothing, hand-printed cushions by Mr Wingate, iconic moustache mugs from Peter Ibruegger, modern British nostalgia Snowden Flood, Merino wool and lanolin skincare products from Romney Marsh Wool.
The event will feature delicious street food including Hansen & Lydersen, Norwegian sustainable locally smoked salmon as recently featured on James Martin: Home Comforts, celebrity chef Mark Hix will host his Hix’s FishDog van, Pitstop Café will provide pan-Asian food, Pizza Pilgrims will bring their secret traditional Italian recipe, Shredded Meat Co – led by Masterchef finalist Chris Gates – will present their authentic American BBQ, The Full English’s responsibly sourced home cooked food, plus there will be The London Marshmallow Company’s gourmet handcrafted mallows, Agua Na Boca’s Brazilian delicacies, Borough Market rare breed specialists, Rare Str’eat, and last year’s success stories, Meringue Girls return with their rainbow array of bite-sized meringues and Gelupo’s finest artisan gelato.
Local eaterie, Tonkotsu, will be extending their fantastic Ramen bar onto the street for the day, Apothic Wine is pleased to invite you to enjoy their delicious Apothic Red and The Hepworth Bar will feature quality artisan Sussex beer, wine and drinks.
Following an amazing response in 2013, with in excess of 15,000 people attending, the third Soho Flea Market event promises to be another resounding success with its high quality line up of specially curated ‘creative market stalls’. There will also be an outdoor stage organised by City Showcase, the year-round not-for-profit festival of new music, featuring breaking musicians and entertainers. The stage is to be hosted by Debbie O’Hare from new artist promoting YouTube channel and music platform, Unsigned TV. She is also a radio DJ on “W12P Wales in Eurovision”. Artists appearing on the stage will include local legend The Soho Hobo, plus breaking artists including indie band Peasant’s King, emerging soul singer Louise Golbey and alternative electronic artist Amani.
Soho Flea Market presents the perfect trading platform for innovative goods, food and crafts made by the next generation of designers and artists, who will be flaunting the spirit of fun and innovation.
A glamorous, high-end event, this is a unique, must-go family day out in a brilliantly iconic location.
