CSL’s information gathering and use policies in connection with this web site are subject to periodic review and any changes will be included within this section of the site. CSL is not responsible for the privacy policies of third party sites to which links are provided. You should check the privacy policies on these sites before providing any personal information.

When you supply any personal information to CSL we have legal obligations towards you in the way we deal with that data. We must collect the information fairly and tell you if we want to pass the information on to anyone else. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as you use the service you have requested, and remove it in the event that the purpose has been met, or, in the case of membership or subscription you no longer wish to continue your registration as a member or subscriber.

For safety reasons, however, CSL may store messaging transcript data (including message content) arising from the use of the site for a period of six months. We will ensure that all personal information supplied is held securely, in accordance with the Data Protection Acts 1998 and 2003.

IP addresses and browser user agent of visitors are logged for administration purposes. The IP address indicates the location of your computer on the Internet – the information stored is anonymous. This information may be aggregated to provide statistical information about the users of our site. The information collected is statistical data which informs us on such things as what items on the website have a high click ration, how many visitors use the site etc, and also helps diagnose server problems and to help spam detection.  No individual user will be identifiable from such information, which is used to ensure that the CSL website reflects the needs of users. IP addresses are collected for administration and fulfilment purposes but are not linked to anything personally identifiable.

Personal information is generally collected if you completed an online contact form.

In this regard, it may be necessary for CSL to disclose your personal information to one or more agents and contractors of CSL and their subcontractors, the information required is the minimum necessary to enable CSL to deal with your needs, but additional information may be requested to help us to provide the most appropriate response. If such additional information is requested, it is highlighted and its provision is voluntary.

Sensitive information is not sought through the web site except where legally required. Sensitive information includes data relating to: race or ethnic origin; political opinions; religious or other similar beliefs; trade union membership; physical or mental health; sexual life or criminal record. Where you do provide sensitive information this will be accepted as explicit consent to CSL to use that information in connection with the purpose for which it has been provided.

CSL assumes responsibility for keeping an accurate record of personal data once you have submitted the information, but not for confirming the on-going accuracy of your personal information. If you advise us that your personal data is no longer accurate, it will be amended (where practical).

Information is normally only provided to a third party if it is required to deal with your enquiry, but there may be other circumstances where CSL is required to provide information as a result of legal process.

All CSL personnel are required to keep personal information confidential and only authorised persons have access to such information.
